“But I don’t WANT a resemblance!” Really??
“But I don’t WANT a resemblance!” Really??
Hey, another interesting summer!
For one thing, I have drawn at a number of fun parties, such as a church camp very recently with lots of really neat people. Joking, hassling each other, lots of laughs. Three hours went by like nothing. Greatly amusing to me, which helps the two-minute drawings to have more energy.
Parties are how we pay the bills, really, and it is endlessly interesting to me that it is somehow still fun, that this has not turned into a job over the last thirty years. I am more than grateful for that.
Other good stuff has included quite a few studio pieces. One was our own postcard, which we produce a few times a year to mail out to a few companies and individuals. Here is the latest, issued when the big movie came out:

I thought this was pretty cool at the time. Now … well, maybe …
Another item was a nice surprise from a loving husband to the wife on their Twenty-fifth Anniversary:

I also received another request from a nice fellow who ordered an unusual item last year: a Beach Bum with no resemblance to anyone.
He came back this year with a photo to show the layout he wished. When I submitted the rough pencil layout, he wanted the drawing changed because it looked too much like him! Well, sure. Here is the final:

And there was a lot more. These were fun, and so here we are. I will try to post this myself for the first time, so forgive me if this blog is a mess.
Till next time, be cool!
